Book AppointmentOntario’s Assistive Devices Program covers 75% of the cost of an approved hearing aid, up to $500 per ear, and it isn’t income-tested, you just need an Ontario health card and a documented, long-term hearing loss. We’re an ADP-registered vendor, so we complete the paperwork for you and bill the province directly. If you’re on ODSP or Ontario Works, your share is often waived entirely. Private benefits, WSIB and Veterans Affairs coverage stack on top, and we’ll check all of it before you commit to anything.
We go beyond simple testing; we evaluate how your hearing impacts your daily interactions in Bradford, whether at work, with family, or in noisy social environments. By prioritizing a holistic understanding of your communication needs, we ensure our assessments and subsequent recommendations are precise, practical, and highly effective for your specific lifestyle.
Most hearing loss doesn’t turn the volume down, it takes the consonants out. That’s why the TV is loud enough but the dialogue still isn’t clear.
Three or more of these is the pattern of early high-frequency loss. A test takes twenty minutes and tells you for certain.
Take the first step toward clearer hearing. Our clinical appointments are available throughout the week to suit your schedule. Submit your details below, and our team will contact you to confirm a time for your comprehensive evaluation.
Your first visit
A hearing test at Best Hearing Care takes about 45 minutes. You'll leave knowing exactly where your hearing stands - whether or not you ever come back.
Sometimes the whole problem is earwax. If that's you, we'll tell you, take care of it, and you'll walk out without buying anything.
A quick look inside both ears with a video otoscope - you'll see the screen too. Wax, fluid and infection all mimic hearing loss, and they're ruled out first.
5 minutesIn the booth we map the quietest sound you can hear at each pitch, then test how well you follow speech when there's noise in the background - because that's the part real life actually asks of you.
25 minutesWe put your audiogram on the screen and show you which sounds are getting through and which aren't. If you don't need hearing aids, we'll say so. If you do, you'll understand why before anyone mentions a price.
15 minutes
Anything sounds good in a quiet room. The test of a hearing aid is a busy restaurant, a family dinner, a car with the radio on.
Trial terms explained in full at your fitting.
Your brain has spent years learning to ignore sounds that weren't reaching it. Giving them back takes a little getting used to - and knowing that in advance makes all the difference.
Day one
Your own voice, paper, footsteps, your turn signal. Nothing is wrong - you're simply hearing things you'd stopped hearing. Start at home, in quiet, for a few hours at a time.
Week one
The most common complaint is sounding too loud to yourself. For nearly everyone it fades within a couple of weeks. Wear them a little longer each day - listening is work at first, and tiredness is normal.
Weeks two to four
Background sound stops demanding attention and voices come forward. This is when we fine-tune the programming to match what you've been experiencing in real life.
Almost every hearing aid that ends up in a drawer got there because of a setting nobody came back to fix. Your follow-up adjustments are included. Please use them.
Hearing aids aren't a purchase, they're a relationship. Most people wear the same pair for six or seven years - so the care that comes after matters more than the sale.
Bring them in twice a year for a proper clean and a tube or filter change. Wax is the number one reason a hearing aid goes quiet - and it's a five-minute fix.
Most problems are solved while you wait instead of being mailed away for three weeks. When a device does have to go back to the manufacturer, we'll set you up with a loaner.
Hearing changes gradually. If yours has shifted, we can usually reprogram the aids you already own rather than selling you a new pair.

In Ontario, expect roughly $1,000 to $6,500 a pair, depending on the technology inside them. What moves the number is the processor — how well it separates a voice from background noise — not the size or the brand name on the box. Government funding and private benefits usually bring that figure down considerably, and we'll work out your actual out-of-pocket cost before you commit to anything.
Yes. Ontario's Assistive Devices Program covers 75% of an approved hearing aid, up to $500 per ear, and it isn't income-tested — you need a valid Ontario health card and a documented long-term hearing loss. We're an ADP-registered vendor, so we complete the paperwork and bill the province directly. If you're receiving ODSP or Ontario Works, your remaining share is often covered as well, and WSIB, VAC and private benefit plans can apply on top.
If both ears have loss, two — nearly always. Your brain works out where a sound came from, and pulls a single voice out of a noisy room, by comparing what each ear hears. One device gives you volume; two give you direction. Single-sided loss is the exception, and we fit that differently.
For mild to moderate loss, often yes. The trade-off is physical: a smaller shell has less room for antennas, batteries and directional microphones, so streaming and noise performance are more limited. The shape of your ear canal also decides what will physically fit. We'll show you the difference side by side rather than asking you to guess.
Most people get six to seven years out of a pair. Before you replace them, come in for a retest — if your hearing has shifted, we can usually reprogram the aids you already own instead of selling you new ones.
Not unless you want to. Most current models charge overnight in a case, the way a phone does, and a full charge comfortably covers a day including streaming. Disposable batteries are still available if you prefer them — some people do, particularly for travel.
Often, yes. For many people the ringing is loudest when a room falls quiet, because there's nothing else for the brain to attend to. Restoring the sounds you've been missing frequently pushes it into the background, and some devices add dedicated sound therapy on top. It isn't a cure and results vary, but it's one of the more common pleasant surprises we hear about.
That describes a good share of the people who walk through our door. Usually one of two things went wrong: the fit was never verified in the ear, or nobody followed up when the settings weren't right. Both are fixable. The other honest answer is that noise processing has genuinely improved — devices now separate speech from background sound rather than simply turning everything down, and that's the situation most people gave up over.
If our assessment indicates that hearing technology would benefit you, we will walk you through the latest, discreet options tailored to your lifestyle and budget. There is never any pressure to proceed—our goal is simply to ensure you have all the information you need to hear better.

Using advanced visualization technology, we perform a thorough removal of excess ear wax, clearing blockages and impacted buildup that may be affecting your hearing and daily comfort.

We offer a curated selection of discrete, high-fidelity hearing technology. We prioritize devices that pair seamlessly with your lifestyle, digital devices, and aesthetic preferences.
Straight talk
Every clinic will tell you what these devices can do. Here's the other half, so nothing about the first month surprises you.
Hearing aids compensate for damage. They don't repair it. What they do is make speech clear enough to stop working so hard for it.
They'll make it possible. A crowded room with hard surfaces is difficult for people with perfect hearing too - anyone promising otherwise is selling.
Your brain needs a few weeks to adjust, and the settings need adjusting alongside it. That's why follow-up visits are built into the price.
Where inner-ear damage is severe, amplification has little to work with. If that's you, we'll say so and refer you rather than sell you something that won't help.
If you've lost hearing suddenly in one ear, or you have hearing loss together with dizziness, don't wait for an appointment - call us and we'll help you get seen.
